In Ireland, my country of birth, we can only play golf 6 months of the year.
Australia is truly a lucky country, and I am lucky to be here, doing what I love.
I started working in the City of Derry Golf Club in February 1989 and began my professional training with the Club in May 1991  I trained under the Club’s professional, Mr. Michael Doherty, who was recently voted Irish Club Professional of the millennium.

Michael was tough, but he is one of the best ... I want to be as good as him
Golf has been my life. I became a member of the PGA in 1996 and enjoyed playing and training with some of the world's best, including Butch Harmon (Tiger's coach at the time).

I was a bit over-awed, but I learned a lot about teaching from the master.

 I am married with two kids and a very lovely wife who has supported me in my quest to become one of the world's best teaching professionals. Young golfers are the future of golf. I was one of four coaches appointed to train the young Irish elite in 2005 - many of whom are now doing well on the world circuit - a period of my career that I look back on with much pride.

 I hope to bring similar success to my new country.
I worked hard at my craft and became a Master club fitter and a physical profiling  instructor with the European Golf Performance Institute. I believe teaching golf is about delivering the full package ... physical and mental fitness is as important as having the right technique and equipment.
Project 2000 and Focus Golf sponsored me to come to Australia  at the beginning of 2008 to help develop junior golf. The project had to be postponed, but I hope to become a permanent resident here so I can see it through.
I was appointed Head Teaching Professional at the magnificent Greg Norman designed Club Pelican at Pelican Waters, Golden Beach, Caloundra where Greg's parents are members. This is an exceptional opportunity for me, so now the work begins ...
